I don’t celebrate any holidays in December, and that’s not gonna change any time soon. What December means to me is hams are on sale. Ham month. THAT’S NICE.
But I DO like holiday music. Just not the syrupy, sentimental, cynicism-free, c. 1950 stuff blaring from every public speaker.
This is my holiday playlist. Or, at least, the parts I could find on YouTube. Maybe you are enough of an asshole to enjoy it, too.
My favorites are at the top.
Rancid - Christmas Eve (She Got Up and Left Me)
Tom Waits - Christmas Card from a Hooker in Minneapolis
Fuel - We Three Kings (cover)
Blink 182 - Won’t Be Home for Christmas
The Vandals - Oi to the World
RUN DMC - Christmas in Hollis
The Dickies - Silent Night (cover)
NOFX - Xmas Has Been X’ed Out
The Ramones - Merry Christmas (I Don’t Want to Fight Tonight)
The Pogues, featuring Kirsty MacColl - Fairytale of New York (aka Christmas in the Drunk Tank)
The Midnight Riders - All I Want for Christmas (Is to Kick Your Ass)
